Why Is Ajusshi Avoiding Jung Hee’s Bar Completely?

@aisling from Soompi posted this question: Does anybody know what Ji An meant by “If I stay here, he won’t be coming to the bar?” Why? Why would he avoid her?

At the time of this discussion, Soompi members had not yet noticed the calendar on the  wall of Jung Hee’s bedroom.  We all had no idea that Dong Hoon avoids the bar for at least a whole month if not longer, showing an incredible amount of self restraint.  And how puzzling his behavior must have seemed to the bar friends who tend to overreact when things are even just a little out of the ordinary. Dong Hoon’s Drawers

I wonder if someone has commented on what Dong Hoon keeps in his drawers: unseen, private, and potentially shameful stuff that others must not know about. The unconscious parts of his desires in which he sometimes loses (aka forgets, represses) stuff when they slip through the cracks and fall behind/below the drawer compartments, as Sang Hoon complains: “He is always losing something behind his drawers.” (paraphrased)

Why is Ji Seok in the U.S.?

Dong Hoon and Yoon Hee’s son Ji Seok, who appears to be no more than 10 years old, certainly younger than 12, is in the United States throughout the entire show.  Some Soompi viewers discuss this seemingly odd practice of sending very young children abroad and its consequences to the family.  Should studying really be that big of a deal? Continue reading Why is Ji Seok in the U.S.?

Dong Hoon’s Awakening

As early as episode 12, after Dong Hoon and Yoon Hee’s confrontation, the show makes two things clear: (1) their marriage is over. It’s not a question of whether it will end, but how. (2) As Dong Hoon wonders about the ‘how’, Ji An appears. What does this mean?
